How Much Does a Website Cost in Ghana in 2026

The short answer: a professional website in Ghana starts at around GHS 2,300 and the price rises with the scope of the work. A business that only needs a clear, credible online presence pays toward the lower end. A company that needs an online shop, payments and several pages of content pays more, and pays for good reasons.

This guide explains what drives the cost, what a Sobiaonline project includes, and the questions worth asking before you compare quotations. It is written to be useful whether or not you are ready to start now.

How much does a website cost in Ghana?

Our starting prices are GHS 2,300 for a Starter website, GHS 3,500 for a Business website and from GHS 6,500 for an Ecommerce website. Each is a defined package with a stated number of pages and features, which you can read in full on our website packages page.

Treat these as starting prices rather than final quotations. A quotation is final once the scope is agreed in writing, and the scope depends on three things: how many pages you need, what the site has to do, and how much of the content is ready when we start. A business with its own copy and photographs usually costs less and finishes sooner than one starting from an empty page.

If a quotation looks far cheaper than the rest, that is not automatically a problem, but it is worth asking about. Some of the cheapest quotes exclude work most sites genuinely need: a design that works on phones, an SSL certificate, basic search setup, or support after launch. Ask any provider, including us, to list what is included and what is not. Nobody reasonable minds the question.

What affects website design cost?

Most price differences come down to a handful of decisions. These are the ones that move a quote most.

Number and type of pages

A five-page site and a twenty-page site are not the same job. Page count matters, but so does what is on the pages: a services page is largely text, while a case study or gallery needs layout work and often photography.

Ecommerce functionality

Selling online adds product catalogue work, cart and checkout, payment configuration and the testing that goes with taking money safely. It is the single largest jump between package types.

Content readiness

If your copy and images are ready, we build. If they are not, someone has to write and prepare them, and that is real time. This is the most common reason a project runs over its initial estimate, and it is entirely avoidable by starting with your content rather than your design.

Special forms and integrations

A contact form is standard. A multi-step enquiry form, a booking system, a member login or a connection to another system is custom work, and custom work is quoted individually.

Design and functionality requirements

A design built from an established template moves faster and costs less than one designed from scratch. That is a legitimate choice, not a compromise, and it is worth being explicit about which one you are buying.

Domain and hosting setup

We help you choose and set up a suitable domain and hosting, and we configure the site so it loads quickly and securely. The domain and hosting are registered in your name, so you keep ownership and control. They are not sold to you as a separate package, and renewal dates and recurring costs are explained before work begins.

Maintenance and support

Every new website includes six months of technical maintenance, covering updates, backups, security monitoring and the correction of technical faults within the agreed scope. Ongoing support beyond that is arranged separately, and it is worth asking what it costs before you need it rather than after.

What is included in a Sobiaonline website project?

Every project includes the same baseline, whichever package you choose:

How the 60/40 payment arrangement works

Projects are paid in two stages. 60% to begin confirms the project and allows work to start. The remaining 40% is due before launch or handover, when the website is finished and you have seen it.

We would rather you approve what you are paying the final stage for than pay the full amount up front and hope. It is also why we do not ask for large deposits on a project we have not yet scoped with you.

How long does a website project take?

Timing depends on scope and content readiness. A Starter website generally takes about one to two weeks once content is available. Business, Ecommerce and custom projects take longer because there is more to design, build and test.

We agree the schedule in writing before work begins, and we keep you updated during it. If content is late, that is usually the reason a date moves, and we will tell you rather than let a deadline slip quietly.

Questions to ask before comparing website quotations

Two quotations for the same website are rarely the same project. These questions make the difference visible:

• Is the price a starting figure or a fixed quotation for a stated scope?
• Exactly what is included, and what is charged separately?
• Does the design work properly on a phone, or is that an extra?
• Is a search setup included, and how far does it go?
• What support is provided after launch, and for how long?
• Who will I be dealing with during the project?
• What happens if I need to add a page or a feature later?
