West Africa Network For Peacebuilding, Ghana (WANEP-Ghana) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Project Manager to oversee the implementation of the Trust2Peace Activity in northern Ghana.
This Project Manager position plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of field activities, monitoring and evaluation, and fostering collaboration with project partners.
The Technical Project Manager Manager will report directly to the Head of the Project and will be responsible for leading the technical components of the Activity, primarily managed by WANEP-Ghana. Related to Jobs in Ghana
Technical Manager – Trust2Peace Activity

Project Manager Key Responsibilities:
Field Activity Oversight: Supervise and manage the execution of field activities, including surveys, dialogues, and workshops, conducted by Project Officers (POs) in charge of different regions within the project’s scope.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring, review, and evaluation of the project’s progress in alignment with established targets and project management requirements.
Stakeholder Liaison: Oversee communication and coordination with other project team members, as well as regional, district, and local government entities and institutions involved in project implementation.
Project Integration: Ensure seamless integration of project activities at the Project Coordination Unit (PCU) under the University of Maryland.
Press Releases: Prepare and draft press releases for approval by the PCU and USAID prior to the implementation of major project activities.
Early Warning Monitoring: Lead efforts related to early warning monitoring, including field visits, analysis, reporting, and the development of security briefs and updates concerning threats to peace and cohesion within the project’s coverage area.
Conflict Mitigation: Facilitate the mitigation of threats to peace and security, particularly as they relate to Violent Extremism (VE).
Reporting: Collate field reports and prepare periodic implementation reports for submission to project management and the UMD-led PCU.
Impact Assessment: Write Impact and Success Stories highlighting WANEP-Ghana’s contributions to the broader project objectives and overall goals.
Project Management: Prepare work plans, concept notes, and Terms of References (ToRs) for project activities and directly manage the project budget.
Strategic Focus: Ensure that WANEP-Ghana’s components align with and contribute effectively to the Trust2Peace Activity’s overall objectives.
Project Manager Qualifications:
A second degree in Peacebuilding, Peace Studies, Conflict Transformation, International Relations, Development Studies, Psychology, Sociology, or related fields.
Professional training and prior experience in the field will be advantageous.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a similar role.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project management, preferably with an NGO.
Demonstrable competence in project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Proficiency in utilizing various project design frameworks and theories of change.
Experience in conducting training and facilitating workshops.
Strong report-writing and communication skills.
Competence in research and data analysis.
Solid budgeting skills.
Ability to build partnerships and establish program networks.
Familiarity with the project’s geographical context and demographics.
Peace, cultural, and gender sensitivity in communication and reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and internet usage.
Professional use of social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
Result-oriented with adaptability.
Strong and flexible team leadership skills, capable of motivating and empowering teams.
Willingness to travel and work outside regular working hours.
