The MEAL Coordinator Role:
Job Title: MEAL Coordinator
Duty Station: Tamale, Northern Region
As the MEAL Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the USAID/GHANA STRENGTHENING ACCOUNTABILITY IN GHANA’S EDUCATION SYSTEM (SAGES) SYSTEMS STRENGTHENING ACTIVITY, led by CARE in consortium with partners such as AfriKids, Community Development Alliance (CDA), Crown Agents, Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC), and School for Life.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and Maintaining an Enabling Environment for Robust MEAL:
Build strong relationships with partner M&E staff in the Zone of Influence (ZOI) to prioritize MEAL.
Create data collection guidelines, instruments, and standards to ensure relevant data collection for the SAGES Systems Strengthening MEAL system.
Support planning, logistics, and coordination of consultants and technical assistance visits.
Building Staff Capacity in MEAL:
Design and lead M&E training programs based on the SAGES Systems Strengthening Activity’s plan.
Provide hands-on technical assistance to staff in designing, monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting.
Develop and implement a strategy to support staff and partners in MEAL activities.
MEAL Technical Support:
Ensure data quality in line with CARE and USAID standards and facilitate data use.
Develop MEAL calendars, work plans, tracking tools, etc., for effective monitoring.
Support various MEAL activities, including training, data collection, data cleaning, and report generation.
Co-author reports and review external independent evaluations.
Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge in tools like XLSForm, STATA/SPSS, and qualitative data analysis software.
Familiarity with the USAID project cycle (ADS 201).
Strong data analysis and report writing skills.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, or related field with 5 years’ experience, or Master’s Degree with at least 3 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation in a donor-funded environment.
