Project Officer Summary
Project Planning and Implementation:
Assist in the development and execution of project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
Coordinate the implementation of community-based agriculture and resilience interventions, focusing on improving food security, livelihood resilience, and sustainable farming practices.
Facilitate community mobilization and engagement processes to ensure effective participation in project activities.
Capacity Building and Training
Organize and deliver training sessions for community members on climate-smart agriculture, natural resource management, and resilience-building practices.
Support local farmers groups or cooperatives with technical advice and best practices in agriculture, value chain development, and sustainable resource management.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E):
Develop and maintain a project monitoring system to track progress against key indicators and outcomes.
Conduct regular field visits to monitor the implementation of activities and assess project impacts.
Prepare and submit timely project reports, including data collection, analysis, and documentation of best practices and lessons learned.
Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination:
Establish and maintain relationships with local communities, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and alignment with regional policies.
Represent the organization in relevant forums, meetings, and workshops to advocate for the project and share results.
Resource Management and Administration:
Assist in budget planning and resource allocation, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of resources.
Support procurement processes for materials and equipment needed for project activities.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including records of beneficiaries, training materials, and financial reports.
Reporting and Communication
Contribute to the preparation of project proposals and funding applications.
Communicate project updates, successes, and challenges to internal teams, donors, and other key stakeholders.
Draft case studies, success stories, and other communication materials that highlight the impact of the project.
Skills Required
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Environmental Science, Social Science, or a related field.
Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in implementing community-based agricultural or resilience projects.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of sustainable agriculture, food security, Climate Smart Agriculture, alternative livelihoods and resilience concepts in Northern Ghana. Experience with participatory rural appraisal (PRA) methods and M&E tools is an advantage.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to work with diverse groups and engage with stakeholders effectively.
Project Management: Strong organizational skills, with experience in managing budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and use findings to improve project outcomes.
Languages: Proficiency in local languages spoken in Bawku.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Personal Attributes

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing project needs.
Cultural sensitivity and understanding of the context in which the project operates.
Willingness to work in Bawku and travel frequently to rural and remote areas.
