JOB TITLE: Hub Coordinator
RESPONSIBLE TO: Steering Committee
INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: Mission Hub Team, Steering Committee, Board of Trustees
Mission Hub national and International mission partners, training providers, networks, supporters and churches in Ghana
LOCATION/TRAVEL TO: Accra, Ghana with possible travels to other African countries when required.

JOB OVERVIEW
• The African Oasis Hub Coordinator will be responsible for the development and growth of the African Oasis Mission Hub into a sustainable mission organisation.
• The Coordinator will bring expertise and experience in organisational development, mission training and sending.
• The role holder will have management and oversight for the hub staff as well as developing
and managing relationships with key stakeholders, national and international partners.
• The Hub Coordinator would take the lead in fulfilling the strategic priorities of the hub to provide excellent mission training, generate and manage financial resources to deliver the strategic priorities in polycentric mission.
The Coordinator role falls into four main areas as follows:
• Support the development and implementation of mission hub strategy
• Lead, support and guide staff through effective line management
• Develop and manage collaborative relationships with the mission hub partners – striving towards fruitful mission impact
• Bring specific expertise and experience to manage the mission hub into a sustainable mission agency.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Organisational Responsibilities
• Establish office facilities in conjunction with TBC
• Mobilise churches to recruit and train mission workers through the African Oasis Hub in Ghana
• Support and guide mission workers-in-training
• Facilitate the training of mission workers
• Be a catalyst for the mission hub in Ghana, Africa and church planting initiatives
• Facilitate a network of learning communities between mission hub partners and mission workers
• Grow the support for the mission hub in Ghana and beyond
• Develop plans to implement mission hub strategy
• Build regular communication and accountability with the chair of the Steering Committee.
2. Personnel
• Responsible for building a team
• Responsible for the line management of staff and volunteers
• Advising on issues relating to staffing
3. Recruiting and Training
• Facilitate the training of mission workers
• Facilitate the cohort of excellent trainers for mission training
• Responsible for the recruitment of mission workers suitable for training
4. Responsibilities related to Mission Hub Partners
• Oversee partnership agreements between the mission hub and mission hub partners
• Be the primary point of engagement and communication with the mission bub partners
5. Communications
• Oversee the writing of reports, prayer letters and updates to key stakeholders
• Represent the hub in strategic mission gatherings, conferences, church programmes and other relevant meetings
• Ensure quick, appropriate and professional communication at all times
• Communicate regular information against agreed indicators to the Steering Committee.
6. Finance
• Oversee the annual preparing of proposed budgets.
• Oversee the preparation of end of year accounts
• Oversee the filing of accounts with the appropriate government organisations
• Managing the annual budget of the mission hub
• Ensure effective fund raising for mission hub strategic priorities
• Ensure financial integrity and accountability at all times
7. Other duties
• To represent the mission hub when required at events that mission the hub is invited to contribute to
• Learning and development opportunities as agreed with the line manager
• Such other duties as the line manager may from time to time consider necessary and suitable
• Work and line manage in accordance with mission hub policies and procedures. Demonstrate mission hub core values
Qualification Required & Experience
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
• Personal experience of and understanding of mission work and training
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with workers in diverse cultural contexts
• Proven ability to communicate sensitively and clearly with organisations from diverse cultures
• Qualified to bachelor’s level, or higher education equivalent, in an academic field relevant to the post
• Listening skills
• Proven organisational and project management skills
• Demonstrable ability to deal sensitively and creatively with situations of tension or crisis
• Self-motivated, with ability to think creatively and strategically, and to manage time and prioritise projects effectively in a highly challenging environment
• Excellent analytical skills
• Ability to work flexibly in a small multi-disciplinary team
• Fluency in English with excellent writing and speaking
• Knowledgeable and highly competent with the Microsoft Office suite of programmes and SharePoint
Preferred
• Good IT skills
• Previous experience in a faith-based charity
• Experience as a long-term overseas mission worker
• Qualified to master’s level in an academic field relevant to the post
• Fluency in a language other than English, relevant to their working context
• Experience of working with a board or NGO governance
• Experience in organisational development or starting a company or NGO

SPECIFIC OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The jobholder must:
• Be a committed Christian, fully in sympathy with the mission hub vision statement.
• Be able to provide a police clearance certificate
