We are currently seeking three (3) qualified candidates for the position of Early Warning Analysts for our Early Warning Centre located in Tamale.

Department: Programs
Location: WANEP-Ghana, Tamale
Immediate Supervisor: National Early Warning System’s Manager
Duration of Employment: One (1) year, renewable
Key Relationships

Internal: National Network Coordinator, Programs Manager, Early Warning Officer, Project Coordinating Unit, Conflict Mitigation Coordinator and other staff at the National office
External WANEP-Ghana Partners and CSOs
Job Role & Significance
This position is integral to WANEP-Ghana’s Early Warning program and is responsible for providing support to data gathering, and in-depth analysis of assigned regions and ensuring that WANEP-Ghana, and its primary clients including CARE International in Ghana, USAID, Regional Peace Councils, and Regional/District Security Councils are abreast and capable of predicting the dynamics of conflicts in the assigned regions and in Ghana as a whole.

Essential Functions
The employee will perform the following duties:
Support to coordinate data gathering into the Agricultural Governance, Resilience and Economic Empowerment (AGREE) Activity Management Information System (MIS), and early warning platform.
Provide analysis and anticipatory warning for conflicts that could affect the stability of the assigned Regions/districts.
Draft specialized conflict analysis briefs, including weekly highlights, monthly bulletins, Situation Tracking, Quarterly Peace and Conflict Reports and other reports as may be assigned.
Maintain regular updated lists of at-risk conflict and security districts and locations in five regions of northern Ghana.
Maintains up to date contact list of Community Monitoring Team (CMT) members i.e. phone numbers, e-mail addresses, twitter, etc.
Liaise with the M and E Officer and using a pre-determined template, collate all direct and indirect results/impact attributed to the MIS.
Keep an up-to-date conflict and security response tracker by following up on all early warning data and information shared with response stakeholders
Maintains up-to-date contact list of all stakeholders in early response at district, regional and national levels
Assist in training and mentorship of monitors.
Any other tasks as may be assigned by Supervisor or that may be relevant in the course of program implementation.
Skills Required
Qualifications and Experience
A first degree in Peacebuilding; Political Science; Gender, peace, and security; Sociology; Social Science; Peace Studies; Development Studies or other related fields.
Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in peacebuilding/development.
An additional basic certificate in computerized data analysis, statistics or mathematics, or graphic presentation is an advantage.
Good experience in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Be competent in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, discussion and report writing.
Must be conversant in accessing resources using internet-based or online software.
Be able to use social media such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Twitter handles professionally.
Direct experience in program planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Ability to co-facilitate workshop trainings.
Must be good team player, open to criticism and be results oriented.
Must be peace oriented, culturally and gender sensitive in interaction, communication and report writing
Demonstrable ability to build partnership and program networks.
Willing to travel and work outside normal hours.
