Regional Project Officer Summary
To ensure effective coordination, planning, execution, and monitoring of planned activities in the region to accomplish SEND Ghanas responsibilities as the Ecosystem Development lead as outlined in the FILMA program Proposal.
Duties, Roles, and Responsibilities
Project Management
Shall prepare and submit quarterly, and semi-annual plans for approval and implementation
Shall prepare and submit quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports of all implemented activities
To collaborate with stakeholders in both the financial, agricultural, and adjacent sectors in the implementation of project activities.
Shall assist in the formation of the FILMA National Forum on Financial Inclusion and Job Creation
Facilitate the establishment of District working Groups to amplify the voices and bolster the capacity of SILCs and the District Level Multipurpose Cooperatives (MPCs).
Plan and conduct institutional capacity building for SILCs, Multipurpose Cooperatives, Private Agriculture Service Providers, Working Groups, etc. on advocacy engagements, financial inclusion, and digitalization
Facilitate recruitment, training, monitoring, and mentoring of Gender Model Families across project districts to promote transformative change in the financial inclusion ecosystem
Assist in the conduct of Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (PM&E) exercise to enhance financial inclusion of the LMAs and PWDs
Monitor and report on the performance indicators of the project concerning ecosystem development
Compile success stories and project results concerning ecosystem development in the region
Financial Management and accountability
Ensure compliance with all donor and partner agreements
Make sure that reports are made to head office/partners in a timely manner
Prepare activity budgets, expend, and report in line with approved financial management guidelines
Skills Required
Education and work experience required.
Bachelors or masters degree in development studies, Agricultural Science, Economics, Rural Development, Environmental Sciences, and related disciplines,
A minimum of five (5) years working in public policy advocacy, access to finance, agricultural development programme, at least three (3) years in a similar position
Experience in working in a development program promoting access to finance for young women and men, single mothers, and PWDs in Agriculture and adjacent Agric sectors.
Key competency and skills required.
Programme management, coordination, and advocacy.
Good understanding of access to finance ecosystem system architecture and policy
Participatory project planning, monitoring, and evaluation
Youth and Gender sensitive project implementation techniques
Computer skills for reporting, planning, monitoring, and presentation
Report writing and communication
Training, mentoring, and coaching.
