Internal Audit and Risk Control Supervisor Summary

The incumbent will oversee the development, standardisation, and updating of internal regulations in accordance with the company’s framework and ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards within the organization.

This role plays a critical function in safeguarding the company’s reputation, integrity, and financial interest through effective compliance management, risk management, and internal auditing practices.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Internal Regulation Improvement
Lead the completion, standardization and improvement of the company’s internal regulations at company level and across various departments.
Management of internal regulations compilation and archiving.
Compliance and Internal Audit
Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, industry standards, company policies, management plans and SOP’s.
Develop, revise and implement internal audit policies, procedures, and plans.
Conduct audits, identify and report potential issues, and propose recommendations for correction and continuous improvement.
Follow up action plans to ensure timely closure of findings.
Risk Management
Lead risk identification and assessment across departments, develop, update and report risk matrix
Work with various departments to develop risk control and improvement measures and follow up and report on the implementation results.
Perform any other related duties based on the exigencies of the Company as assigned by the manager.
Skills Required
Minimum qualification (s)
Degree or equivalent in Finance/Accounting, Legal, Business Management or relevant discipline.
Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification (desirable)
Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Ghana will be a plus.
Experience (Minimum)
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Auditing, Compliance, Risk Management or a similar position in the mining, manufacturing, technology industry or similar environment.
Experience in Project Audit or Project Management is a plus.
Knowledge (In-depth)
Systematic knowledge of internal regulations framework
Deep understanding of auditing, compliance, and risk management principles and practices
Familiar with internal audit standards and procedures
Familiar with finance, procurement, and tendering processes
Knowledge with project management or project audit is a plus
Skills
Ability to accurately interpret and analyze complex data
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels.
Proficient in conducting audits and preparing audit reports.
Problem-solving, analytical/critical thinking and strong numerical skills, detail orientation and confidentiality management.
Change management, Stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
