To lead a team of security personnel to ensure the safety and security of the plant, its assets, and all personnel working on site. This is a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of gold production activities.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise a team of security guards, officers, and other personnel to provide comprehensive security coverage for the process plant
Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining security policies, procedures, and protocols to mitigate risks and protect the plant’s operations
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions
Oversee the access control system, surveillance cameras, and other security technology to ensure effective monitoring and deterrence
Provide security-related training and guidance to plant personnel to enhance security awareness and preparedness
Maintain detailed records and documentation of all security-related activities, incidents and investigations
Respond to security incidents promptly and appropriately by acting as the primary point of contact during security incidents or emergencies at the plant and taking necessary actions to mitigate risks.
Conduct initial investigations into security incidents at the plant, gather evidence and prepare incident reports. Ensure that all security incidents are properly documented and reported to supervisor
Collaborate with the security management team to align security strategies with overall Security Management Systems and operational objectives
Perform any other related duties based on the exigencies of the company as assigned by the Supervisor
Skills Required
Minimum qualification (s)

Tertiary qualification in Security Management or a related field
Physical Security Professional
Experience

Five (5) years post qualification experience in security supervisory role preferably in the mining or industrial sector
Knowledge

Good working knowledge of mine related laws and regulations
Strong knowledge of security best practices, risk management, and emergency response procedures
Skills

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with good oral and written communication skills
Computer literacy – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Information monitoring and management skills
Planning, organizing and prioritizing skills
Excellent people skills
Leadership and behavioural attributes
