Security Control Room Operator Summary
To monitor and respond to security-related activities and incidents through continuous surveillance of CCTV system. Critical role in ensuring the protection of companys assets, personnel, and operations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Continuously monitor all CCTV feeds, radios and security surveillance systems across the mine, process plant and other key facilities
Promptly identify and respond to any suspicious activities, security breaches, or emergency situations in accordance with established protocols
Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all security-related incidents, observations, and actions taken
Communicate and coordinate with the on-site security team, management, and/or emergency response team as needed to address security issues
Assist in the review and analysis of CCTV footage to support investigations, audits, and security assessments
Ensure the proper functioning of all CCTV equipment, cameras, and related systems, and report any malfunctions or technical issues
Provide regular updates and reports on the security status and any notable events to the security supervisor and Security Manager
Perform any other related duties based on the exigencies of the Company as assigned by the Supervisor
Skills Required
Minimum qualification (s)
Diploma with additional training or certification in security operations, surveillance or a related IT discipline is desirable.
Experience
Two (2) years experience in security monitoring or control room role, preferably in the mining or similar industrial environment.
Knowledge
Good working knowledge of security technologies, including video surveillance, intrusion detection systems and alarm systems.
Familiarity with relevant security protocols, procedures, and emergency procedures
Skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with security personnel, management and emergency responders
Strong attention to detail and ability to remain vigilant and focused for extended periods
Proficient in the use of CCTV systems, security software, and related technologies
