Security Supervisor (Process Plant) Summary

To assist in maintaining the electronic security infrastructure and safeguard the facility, personnel and valuable assets of the mine.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in assessing the security needs of the mining facility and develop comprehensive security plans incorporating integrated electronic security systems
Collaborate with stakeholders to implement designed electronic security solutions that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements
Assist in ensuring the integration and interoperability of various electronic security systems such as access control, CCTV, intrusion detection and alarm systems
Assist in conducting routine inspections and testing of security equipment to ensure optimal functionality
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system configurations, and service contracts
Implement protocols for emergency response, including alarm activations, security breaches, or other incidents
Assist in providing support and guidance to security staff in effectively utilizing electronic security systems during emergency scenarios
Assist to conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in the electronic security systems and propose appropriate measures to mitigate risks
Perform any other related duties based on the exigencies of the Company as assigned by the Supervisor
Skills Required
Minimum qualification (s)

Tertiary qualification in Security Management or a related field such as security management, computer science or engineering is desirable.
Experience

Five (5) years post qualification experience in designing, implementing and managing integrated electronic security systems in the mining, security or industrial sector.
Knowledge

Good working knowledge of advanced security technologies, including access control systems video surveillance, intrusion detection systems and alarm systems.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations related to security systems in the mining industry.
Skills

Good interpersonal and organizational skills with good oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Proficiency in using security management software, database management, and incident reporting tools.
