Virtual ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum Summary
This job update is all about the Virtual ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum individual Consultant role in West Africa at the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE)
Virtual ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum Details
West Africa is providing a real platform for building effective networks and partnerships that will accelerate the implementation of priority energy projects dubbed the Virtual ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF).
The ECOWAS Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) was created in 2010 in response to the energy poverty crisis facing the West African region and the need to mitigate the effects of climate change.
This was a strategic decision by West African leaders.
The ECOWAS Commission, under the auspices of the ECOWAS Commission, is working to reduce the appalling energy deficit and promote renewable energy and energy efficiency in the region.
ECREEE is now widely regarded as the “pass-through” regional institution to address all renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) issues in ECOWAS.
Since 2017, ECREEE has convened the ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF), which has become the mandatory energy event in West Africa.
The Virtual ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF) is providing a real platform for building effective networks and partnerships that will accelerate the implementation of priority energy projects.
The vision of the Virtual ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum is to promote concrete progress in the implementation of the Sustainable Energy goals and the Sustainable Energy for All (SEEforALL) initiative in the ECOWAS region.
While the first and second editions were successfully held in Dakar, Senegal, the third edition took place in Accra, Ghana, in October 2019.
However, the 2020 edition coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic and took place virtually for the first time.
Given the current global health situation, ESEF 2021 will also be virtual.
Therefore, ECREEE seeks to recruit an individual consultant to support the organization of the second virtual ESEF, in accordance with the attached Terms of Reference (ToR).
