JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for monitoring the implementation of approved strategies, policies and procedures in managing heavy duty equipment/machines operations to enhance operational performance of the company.

REPORTS TO : Technical Supervisor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for executing both predictive and planned preventive maintenance functions.
Submit weekly, monthly, yearly budgets and reports
Responsible for providing enough accessories and material parts for Plant maintenance
Commit to plant safety procedures
Mainly work in the maintenance department and be responsible for carrying out all field repairs with the whole manufacturing operations team.
Participate in planning and ensuring effective plant spare parts management
Perform process improvements, providing support and enhancement to the company’s health, safety, and environmental system that conforms to the required legal standard.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

Knowledge/understanding of scheduling and maintenance.
Knowledge and understanding of legislative requirements relating to occupational health, safety and environment.
Knowledge/understanding of Health and Safety issues and codes of practice relevant to environmental sanitation/waste management
Ability to work in a fast paced and often pressured environment.
Good knowledge/understanding of waste management practices and its environmental impact.
Good planning, documentation and organizing skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and execute projects.
Good knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and other software and tools relating to transport management and operations.
Good decision making based on thorough analysis.
Education

HND in Mechanical Engineering or (Bachelor’s Degree would be an advantage)
Experience

Five (5) years working experience with at least 3 years’ experience in leading engineering teams in a processing or manufacturing environment.
Workshop Supervision experience would be added advantage.
