About You And The Role

We’re looking for a talented and passionate People Ops Coordinator to join Zipline’s growing People team in Africa. As a People Ops Coordinator, you’ll support Zipline’s People team members in Rwanda, Ghana, and other countries across Africa to enable rapid and scalable growth. You’ll run HR processes across the employee lifecycle, build and maintain excellent HR records, continuously improve our systems, and enable data-driven decisions. Our People team is a high-growth organization and you’ll have opportunities to get involved and contribute in many areas.
What You’ll Do
Build and maintain employee data, documentation, and records at Zipline (onboarding, role changes, terminations, documentation, etc.)
Onboard new employees and excellently manage all documentation
Support and help plan broad HR information meetings such as benefits enrollment, orientation, etc.
Build clear documentation to answer HR questions regarding topics such as payroll, benefits, etc.
Administer benefits consistently across Zipline’s workforce
Support Zipline employees with global mobility (e.g., visa applications, pre-trip briefings, etc.)
Continuously improve Zipline’s HR information systems to ensure we have high-quality and useful records
Run and continuously improve HR processes such as internal transfers, performance reviews, offboarding, leaves of absence, etc.
Generate reports using employee data to inform data-driven decisions for Zipline’s People team
Partner closely with People Partners (HR Business Partners) to resolve HR issues

What You’ll Bring
You have 2+ years of experience in a professional setting experience in human resources preferred but not required
You have excellent attention to detail and produce high-quality, error-free work
You have excellent interpersonal skills and can effectively partner with other People team members and business stakeholders
You are exceptionally organized and can multitask and adapt easily to a fast-paced startup environment
You have experience in cleaning and analyzing data using Google Sheets or Excel to inform decision-making
You are passionate about learning about HR laws and regulations in countries across Africa and, as a bonus, you already have some working knowledge of HR laws and regulations in your local employment market
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills; with full professional proficiency in spoken and written English
You have good typing and data entry skills (>=40 words per minute)
What Else You Need to Know
We are considering candidates who are either currently based in Rwanda or Ghana, or who would be interested in moving to Rwanda or Ghana and would be eligible to work there.
