Maintain effective, efficient and accurate Financial Reporting for management decision making using accounting tools and ratios analysis and ensure that: all assets are properly treated, sales figures are accurately reconciled and captured on the ERP system as well as, ensure that the company’s financial statements are correctly prepared and fairly represented in adherence with accounting principles regulatory rules and International Financial Reporting Standards.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Posting of payment vouchers, petty cash vouchers and staff cash advance retirements on the companys ERP system (SAP)
Accurate matching of costs and revenue on monthly basis through servicing of vendors POs and entry of customers invoices on SAP without omission.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, biyearly and yearly financial statements along with the relevant supporting schedules and explanatory notes for internal and external use
Ensure spending is in line with budget and recommend methods and strategies for cutting cost
Analyze the company’s financial performance and forecast long-term horizons for management use
Ensure that inventories are properly captured on SAP and conduct monthly reconciliation of inventories in the books with physical stock
Track financial status by monitoring variances from plan and appraise financial performance by comparing and analyzing plans and forecasts with actual results
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports by collecting, summarizing and analyzing data and trends as well as investigating variances through:
Comply with state and federal tax filing requirements by studying regulations; adhering to requirements; performing monthly VAT filing and maintaining tax records, calculating estimated tax payments, processing tax remittances and tax receipts collection; assembling data for quarterly and annual tax filings.
Assist to prepare monthly financial reports for presentation(s) and compile data for monthly performance reviews of the business activities of the company.
Co-produce and compile the annual budget and the business plan of the company.
Reconcile W.I.P, investments and inter-company receivable accounts on monthly basis
Ensure that adequate records are kept for all tax related matters as well as prompt remittance and collection of tax receipts/certificates
Monitor all cash advances and ensure that they are timely retired and accurately expensed before management account is finalized on a monthly basis.
Generate and post journals and ensure subsequent posting to the general ledger as well as review ledger postings and capitalize fixed assets appropriately on SAP.
Ensure that withholding taxes claimable (WHT receipts) are received as at due date(s)
Analyze and review financial ratios (including aging and average collection period of receivables for management decision making) in line with standards and financial covenants
Response to management financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting financial and non-financial data
Prepare special reports by studying variances in the actual OPEX compared with the budgeted OPEX
Daily and monthly reconciliation of account receivables and account payables to reflect the actual position of the trade receivables and trade payables accounts in real-time
Monthly submission of management accounts in the approved format by the 5th of every month
Required Skills or Experience
BSc/HND (Accounting/Finance)
Full /Part qualification ACCA/ICAN/CIMA/CPA or any equivalent professional certification in Ghana (Added Advantage)
Knowledge
Ability to use accounting software(s)
Knowledge of Quick Books and SAP (ERP System)
Ability to proficiently use computers and applications
Ability to work under minimal supervision
