Main Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning:

? Implement and assist in creating Alliance Francaise’s cultural strategy and framework policies

? Develop and manage the Cultural Department’s budget

? Review artists’ proposals and select performances

? Manage Alliance Francaise’s yearly cultural planning, including local events and African tours. Team Management:

? Lead weekly team meetings and assign tasks to team members

? Plan and lead staff appraisals twice a year

? Coordinate staffing requirements and staff briefings.

Events Coordination:

? Produce detailed proposals for events (e.g. timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets);

? Develop partnerships with artists/producers, sponsors or partner organizations by setting up conditions of collaboration

? Liaise with artists/producers to ascertain their precise event requirements

? Ensure insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are adhered to

? Coordinate venue management, caterers, stand designers, contractors and equipment hiring

? Plan room layouts and the entertainment programme, scheduling workshops and demonstrations;

? Sell sponsorship/stand/exhibition space to potential exhibitors/partners;

? Liaise with marketing and communications colleagues to promote the event;

? Oversee the dismantling and removal of the event and clearing the venue efficiently;

? Post-event evaluation (including data entry and analysis and producing reports for event stakeholders)

? Conduct bi-annual performance appraisal and objectives review of Accounts Assistant

Education and Experience:

? MA/BA in theatre Art/ Project Management or equivalent

? At least 3 years of experience in organizing events and managing budgets
