Accra Hearts of Oak is the premier professional football club in Ghana and over a century old. The Head of Accounts will be fully in-charge of all aspects of the accounting function of the Club. This is a senior management role reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the organisations senior management team and the Executive Chairman.
Lead and manage the accounting and finance team to ensure the Club meets all its financial obligations.
Prepare timely monthly and quarterly management accounts.
Prepare annual financial statements in compliance with acceptable standards.
Ensure the timely and accurate provision of accounting and financial information to support ongoing business operations and provide decision support.
Ensure the Clubs financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation.
Work with the senior management team to prepare annual budgets, provide quarterly forecasts, and analyse deviations from budget.
Support the centralized accounting function for audits with independent auditors.
Manage, update and implement financial policies and procedures.
Represent the Club with external stakeholders including football bodies, sponsors, auditors, banking partners, suppliers, commercial partners and the local community agencies.

Track record: Working in a dynamic, forward-thinking and proactive business environment.
Experience: Minimum of 10years working in accounting and finance-related leadership role with responsibility for developing a high-performing team, ideally in professional sport.
Qualification: Recognised accounting qualification, specifically ICA or ACCA.
Leadership: Excellent leadership and team-management skills.
Communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively and interpret accounting and financial information for informed decision-making.
Software: Good working knowledge of accounting and finance-related IT systems.
