Global Communities is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party (COP) for the anticipated USAID-funded Resiliency in Northern Ghana (RING) II program. Funding for this program is expected to be in the range of 25M. The purpose of the RING II – Systems Strengthening will be to strengthen service delivery systems in order to elicit the adoption of behaviors that promote nutrition and resilience of poor and food-insecure households in northern Ghana.
Reporting to the Chief of Party (COP), the DCOP will assist in providing overall leadership, management, strategic vision, and strong technical support in the implementation of the project. The DCOP will assist the COP in providing oversight of technical staff to ensure that the project components are results-oriented, meeting their targets with high-quality deliverables on-time within budget. It is anticipated that the DCOP will manage operational aspects of the project, including budgeting and financial monitoring. S/he will manage daily project operations, oversee quality of monitoring and evaluation and ensure compliance with Global Communities policies and procedures, and USAID rules and regulations. S/he will contribute to development of all required project reports to USAID. The DCOP is responsible for ensuring continuation of all project activities in the absence of the COP. The DCOP will be based in Northern Ghana.
Bachelors degree in public administration, nutrition, public health or a related field is required. A Masters degree in one of those areas or international development, government, social sciences, or in a closely related field such as agriculture is strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience managing a team and project components on donor-funded projects addressing nutrition, food-security, resilience or a related area is required.
Experience with USAID programs of similar size and scope
Experience maintaining relationships with local institutions, USAID, donor organizations, and government counterparts.
Experience in developing project and financial reports in accordance with donor guidelines.
Regional experience required. Experience in Northern Ghana preferred.
Highly developed leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
Strong budgeting and financial oversight skills.
