Education Advisor Details
Provide technical backstopping for aspects of other specialists work, as appropriate
Contribute, in your areas of expertise, to external facing conferences and technical meetings or to publicity e.g. blogs, vlogs
Support Team Leaders, Project/Programme Managers and Project Coordinators to ensure completion of project deliverables in a range of management areas in accordance with our Business Management System (BMS)
Act as Project Manager for agreed small projects
Develop relationships with clients and partners to prepare for upcoming opportunities
Contribute to the development of capability statements, expressions of interest (EOIs) and proposals including
contributing or leading technical writing and participating in proposal development teams as required
Education Advisor Specification
Requirements of the Education Advisor role
Masters degree in a subject related to Education and International Development or equivalent. Candidates should offer one or more of the following specialisms : early childhood education ; teacher development ; education finance ;
education management and / or planning; gender equality and social inclusion in education ; learning assessment ; Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning .
Work experience in one or more African or Asian countries within government or on a donor-funded programme
Willingness to travel frequently, and to fragile/conflict-affected countries; including an ability to work effectively
remotely and a demonstrated aptitude for adapting to other cultures
Experience as a teacher or educator would be an advantage
Excellent writing (for reports and proposal writing) and communication skills in English, ability in additional languages (particularly French) is an advantage
Advanced level in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, Power BI, and Outlook) and other professional programmes and apps
Ability to work to tight deadlines, both in a team and individually
Excellence in building partnerships with clients, consultants and colleagues
Good conceptual and analytical skills
Ability to plan and organise activities efficiently to achieve given objectives
Pro-active approach to problem solving with the ability to react to situations expediently

Education Advisor Job Profile
The Education Adviser will join our team of international education and development professionals to contribute to existing projects and help win and deliver new work, in support of the growth of the International Education Portfolio
(IEP). There will be specific emphasis on technical delivery as well as winning new business and supporting project
management. Typically, our clients turn to Cambridge Education for national education system strengthening and capacity development, to improve access to equitable and effective learning for all.
You will have some experience of work in at least one low income country, and you will bring burgeoning technical
skills in education relevant to the developing world. You should demonstrate the potential to support or deliver
technical work in one or more of the following technical areas:
early childhood education;
education management and / or planning;
gender equality and social inclusion in education;
monitoring, evaluation and learning;
education data management, visualisation and communications.

The position will be part of our Cambridge Education team and will present opportunities for travel, both short and long term, depending on health,
safety and security conditions. This role offers the chance to develop your skills as an education professional as well as getting involved in winning and managing projects.
It is expected you would travel for meetings at our Head Office in Cambridge, UK, at least once yearly and may need to
travel to other locations for other meetings. You will be provided with training including professional development opportunities and mentoring each year.
