The role of the Country Manager is critical to achieving their desired strategic growth – increase footprint and exploit cross-border market opportunities. The candidate will be responsible for the success of their expansion into Ghana and other English speaking, West African countries (i.e. Sierra Leone, Liberia, Gambia) – gaining market share and client retention.

This position reports directly to Chief Executive Officer – Africa and the board of directors. The business is seeking to hire a highly driven, business-oriented personality, with a strong desire for a stake in the outcome.

Core Responsibilities

Oversee the newly expanding operations of the business in Ghana, develop plans and drive company-wide strategies to attract new business opportunities and ensure profitability
Seek new business opportunities and cultivate existing business relationships to expand business and grow revenues within Ghana
Establish strong, trust-based relationships with clients- and serve as the clients’ advocacy
Responsible for the Country’s Profit and Loss. Manage every aspect of the business from sales to operations
Identify and understand clients’ needs, proactively provide the right solutions that meet the clients’ pain points- working closely with the Solutions Sales team
Commercial Management – oversee pricing, contract negotiations (under approvals) including profitability protection
Collaborate effectively with the group and leverage on the Solutions Sales, Engineering and PMO, while gradually evolving the regional structure to complete fulfilment of clients’ needs
Drive account planning in strategic accounts i.e. Service Providers, Financial, Utilities, Governments and Commercial sectors – with a clear understanding of budget owners, buying centres, and the approval process across users to procurement departments
Responsible for building a competent team to drive operations
Seek out opportunities for expansion and growth in other geographic locations.
Monitor company performance and synthesize periodic reports on progress and development to the group

Required Competencies

Matured and experienced resource with average of 15 years’ experience and above, spanning technical, sales and operations in ICT services industry, and deep understanding of the competition landscape
Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at C-suite level
Flexibility to navigate ambiguity and effectively manage changing priorities
Strong commercial and business acumen
Strong oral and written communication skills
